AAA - Buffalo Bisons (8-8)_______________________________________
BUFFALO 6, SYRACUSE 4 (Box)
RHP Matt Harvey nothced ten Ks and a win in his first strong start in AAA. Told you he'd be okay. 1B Valentino Pascucci and C Rob Johnson eached blasted a home run to power the Bisons offense as Buffalo got back to .500. Hey, has anyone else noticed that Wally Backman seems to like to move position players all around the field during the game? Surprised he hasn't played Brad Holt in RF yet or something.
- CF Jordany Valdespin: 2-5, BB, R; This comment about the move to CF affecting his bat is worth mentioning.
- 3B Zach Lutz: 0-4, 2 K; Only his second hitless game in his last ten starts.
- 1B Josh Satin: 1-4, 2B
- RHP Matt Harvey: W, 6 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 10 K, 1 HR, WP; Still a hair more wild than you would like, but that is picking nits.
AA - Binghamton Mets (7-7_____________________________________
BINGHAMTON 7, PORTLAND 5 (Box)
The scoring came in bunches early before both teams' bullpens took over and things settled down. RHP Greg Peavey was very hittable, but a crazy great game from SS Josh Rodriguez (3-3, HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, 2 BB) and a pair of doubles from 3B Jefry Marte put the B-Mets on top in this one.
- RF Juan Lagares: 1-4, R, RBI, BB
- CF Matt Den Dekker: 2-5, 2B, R, K
- 3B Jefry Marte: 2-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI, BB; Small sample size, small sample sample size, but he's hitting .394 on the young season.
- LF Pedro Zapata: 2-4, K
- RHP Greg Peavey: 3.2 IP, 5 ER, 8 H, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 HR, WP
- LHP Robert Carson: 1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 K
- LHP Josh Edgin: SV 2 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K; Doin' his thing
Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (11-2)________________________________________
St. Lucie and Palm Beach were suspended in the bottom of the first due to rain. Game will be finished as part of a DH today. Ah, that lovely Florida weather.
Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (10-6)__________________________________
HICKORY 5, SAVANNAH 2 (13) (Box)
Domingo.Tapia. Say it with me, Domingo. Tapia. The Dominican righthander continues to put together what is looking like a breakout campain. Through seventeen and two-thirds innings he has struck out 20 and walked 2 while working in the mid-upper 90s. Oh yeah, the Sand Gnats lost a tough one in extras, but just repeat after me, Domingo. Tapia. Also, that is what happens when you go 0-10 with RISP.
- DH Cam Maron: 1-6, 2 K
- C Albert Cordero: 0-4, BB, 2 K
- 3B-1B Aderlin Rodriguez: 0-5, BB, 2 K
- CF Travis Taijeron: 0-4, RBI, 2 K, SF
- 1B Brian Harrison: 1-3, 2B, BB
- RHP Domingo Tapia: 5.2 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 9 K, 7 groundball outs; Domingo. Tapia.
