The Mets fell behind by three runs in the first inning, but Johan Santana settled in. The Mets chipped away and broke through to take the lead late in the game on big hits by pinch hitters Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Mike Baxter, but an Ike Davis error in the eighth inning and a very bad outing by Frank Francisco cost them the game.

We know it was over when...

Frank Francisco took the mound in the ninth inning.

What else?

The Marlins' new ballpark is a very strange place, and Giancarlo Stanton hit the hardest ground ball in the history of baseball to begin Miami's rally in the ninth.
