The Mets were destroyed by the Blue Jays in their first interleague game of the season. Jon Niese allowed 4 home runs and a total of 8 runs in three innings of work, and the bullpen - mostly Manny Acosta - gave up 6 more runs. All but one of the Mets' runs came when the game was completely out of hand.

We knew it was over when...

Toronto hits its fourth home run of the night, which really put the game out of reach.

What else?

Rob Johnson pitched the eighth inning for the Mets, and he pitched a perfect inning. He was the first Mets' position player to pitch in a game since Todd Zeile.

David Wright, who has a bad cold, was able to get some early rest once the game became a blowout. Robert Carson, who was called up when D.J. Carrasco was designated for assignment, made his major league debut.
