Infielder prospect Rylan Sandoval is headed down to High-A St. Lucie after thirteen games at Double-A Binghamton and outfielder Rafael Fernandez, also in St. Lucie, is headed to the disabled list with a strained groin, according to the team:

Sandoval, 24, was signed by the Mets back in February 2011 after being drafted by the club in 2007 but electing to attend Long Beach State rather than join the team. He has since played for Low-A Brooklyn, Single-A Savannah, and High-A St. Lucie before joining AA Binghamton for the 2012 season, racking up 664 plate appearances and hitting .254/.339/.408. Sandoval was hitting .250/.341/.528 in Binghamton over 41 plate appearances on the season.

Fernandez, 23, already has seven minor league seasons under his belt, joining the organization at 17 years old. He has a career minor league line of .260/.336/.383, but was hitting better this season, going .289/.381/.456 over 105 plate appearances.
