Mets 6, Padres 1: That's More Like It

A, B, C, D, E, F, Gee.

The Padres scored a run in the top of the first, but that was all they would muster against Dillon Gee through seven innings and the Mets' bullpen for another two. Gee notched 9 strikeouts in 7 innings of work, and even against a weak lineup like San Diego's, it's great to see Gee looking much better than he did last year.

At the plate, Lucas Duda hit a solo home run, his first bomb in a long time, to tie things up early. The Mets went on to score two in the third and three in the fifth to build a big lead.

We knew it was over when...

Ike Davis singled in two runs in the fifth inning to plate the Mets' fifth and sixth runs of the game.

What else?

David Wright went 0-for-3 with a walk, dropping his batting average to .397 and on-base percentage to .495. Traid.
