Johan Santana threw the first no-hitter in New York Mets history. It wasn't easy, and Santana threw a career-high 134 pitches, but leave the worrying for another time. The Mets scored eight runs, too, but we'll talk more about that later. Mike Baxter made an outstanding catch on which he hurt his shoulder running into the left field fence. There were multiple close calls on bloop-ish pop outs in the ninth inning. Everything went right, and it was incredible. Never again will Mets fans hear the exact number of games played in franchise history without a no-hitter. Santana had 8 K and 5 BB in his nine brilliant innings of work.
We knew it was over when....
Johan Santana struck out David Freese to complete the no-hitter.
What else?
There is nothing else.
