The National League and American League rosters for the 2012 MLB All-Star Game have been released. The game will be played on Tuesday, July 10 at Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals. The Mets' David Wright and R.A. Dickey, both baseball luminaries at their respective positions, have been chosen to represent the National League.
As with every year, the All-Star Game starters were chosen by fans around baseball, who fill out paper ballots at the ballpark and, increasingly prevalent in the Internet age, stuff ballots online for their favorite (i.e., not necessarily the best) players. The MLB website allows you to vote up to 25 times with a single email address, and with services like Gmail, etc. making it free and trivially easy to create many new email addresses in a matter of seconds, a bit of spare time and a cadre of close, dedicated friends could file thousands of ballots in a fairly short time.
Here's what the full rosters, excepting the Final Vote selection and injury replacements for each league, look like.
