Johan Santana got shelled, the Mets' offense did virtually nothing against Ben Sheets in his first start in nearly two years, and CB Bucknor continued to be one of the worst umpires in the game as the Mets were swept out of Atlanta.

The Braves scored all six of their runs in the fifth inning, and the Mets avoided the shutout on a run-scoring single by Andres Torres in the seventh.

We knew it was over when...

Santana gave up a three-run home run to Freddie Freeman in the sixth to put the Mets behind 6-0.

What else?

The Mets' visit to Turner Field was as frustrating a series as they've had in Atlanta over the years. They are off tomorrow and wil try to turn things around when the begin a three-game set in Washington on Tuesday.
