AAA - Buffalo Bisons (53-57)_______________________________________

INDIANAPOLIS 6, BUFFALO 2 (Box)

The Bisons have been getting some familiar faces of late, and several of them had solid nights. Mike Nickeas hit like...well...like it was his job last night. Jennry Mejia got the shortened start as he's stretched out yet again, and walks were again a concern. Dylan Owen was poor in relief, and the Bisons dropped this one.

AA - Binghamton Mets (51-56)_____________________________________

Binghamton had the evening off.

    Hi-A - St. Lucie Mets (18-20)________________________________________

ST. LUCIE 8, CLEARWATER 3 (Box)

This is pretty much a totally different St. Lucie team than the one that rolled through the first half of the season, but the results have been getting better of late. It's now 8 out of the last 10 in the win column for the Mets as they approach the final month of the season.

Lo-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (16-21)__________________________________

Savannah was postponed last evening.

    Short Season A - Brooklyn Cyclones (25-17)__________________________________

BROOKLYN 5, MAHONING VALLEY 1 (Box)

Rainy Lara had an absolutely fantastic start last night, and Brandon Nimmo was on his game as well. Brooklyn still have some work to do, but they're at least hanging around at the top of the division.

  • CF Brandon Nimmo: 3-5, 2 2B, RBI, 2 R
  • 1B Jayce Boyd: 2-5, 2B, 2 RBI
  • RF Eudy Pina: 2-3, BB, 2 R, SB
  • SS Juan Carlos Gamboa: 1-3, BB, CS
  • DH Alexander Sanchez: 1-4, BB, K
  • LF Stefan Sabol: 1-5, K, 2 RBI
  • RHP Rainy Lara: 7 IP, 3 H, ER, 10 K, 0 BB

Appalachian League (R) - Kingsport Mets (12-25)__________________________________

JOHNSON CITY 3, KINGSPORT 2 (Box)

Akeel Morris came in to pitch the final 3 innings of this one, and while he struck out 6, he managed to allow 5 baserunners and a homerun. He continues to be a real enigma, and he and Juan Urbina have certainly taken a step back this season.

Star of the Night

Rainy Lara is the easy choice after his start last night. A 10 K, 0 BB performance always looks good.

Goat of the Night

There wasn't a truly terrible performance to choose from today, but Dylan Owen certainly wasn't good when he came on in relief of starter turned reliever turned starter turned reliever turned starter again Jennry Mejia.
