Matt Harvey and the Mets' bullpen weren't perfect, but it's not possible to win a baseball game if you don't score any runs. Harvey allowed a two-run home run to Jason Heyward in the first inning, but he didn't allow another run through the rest of his six-inning start. Josh Edgin allowed a two-run home to Dan Uggla in the eighth to extend the Braves' lead. And the Mets weren't able to score against Paul Maholm, who threw a complete-game shutout.
We knew it was over when...
Uggla hit his dinger.
What else?
- Harvey issued five walks and only notched three strikeouts. He struggled with control early and picked up two of his three strikeouts late.
- The Mets had just three hits and drew zero walks in the game.
