Quick Recap: Nationals 5, Mets 1 — McHugh've Been Served

Whoops!
Whoops!

Collin McHugh didn't fare well against the Nationals in his third big league start. He gave up five runs on three home runs in four innings of work. While the first of the three - off the bat of Kurt Suzuki - only happened after Kelly Shoppach dropped a pop-up behind the plate, the Nationals were all over McHugh. Down five, Scott Hairston hit a solo bomb in the fourth to put the Mets on the board. After that, Elvin Ramirez threw a pair of scores innings with four strikeouts and two walks. Ramon Ramirez threw a scoreless seventh, and Jeurys Familia threw two scoreless, perfect innings of his own with two strikeouts. Unfortunately, the Mets didn't score again, either.

We knew it was over when...

Ian Desmond hit Washington's third home run of the game to put them up five-zip.

What else?

R.A. Dickey pitches tomorrow. Happy Dickey Eve!
