Tonight's Game Between The Mets And Phillies Rained Out

Tonight's game between the Mets and Phillies has been postponed because of the weather. With nasty storms headed for New York City, the announcement was made well in advance of the game's scheduled 7:10 pm start.

Earlier today, the Mets had announced that Jeremy Hefner would start tonight, weather permitting, so that Matt Harvey's final start of the season could be bumped to Wednesday. With the postponement, Harvey will now pitch on Wednesday opposite Philadelphia's Cole Hamels, and Hefner will start the makeup game on Thursday.

According to the Mets' official Twitter account, tickets for tonight's game will be honored on Thursday. For more information, check out the Mets' official rain check policy. With the New York Giants playing on Thursday night, Citi Field might be pretty, pretty empty for the makeup game.

Given the way the radar looks right now, it would be a surprise if any games scheduled to take place in the northeastern part of the country weren't rained out.
