Mets Morning News: OBSTRUCTION!

Your Sunday morning dose of New York Mets and Major League Baseball news, notes, and links.

Meet the Mets

No Mets news yesterday! The hot stove is still cold.

Yesterday At AA

We have free agent previews of Kendrys Morales and David Murphy.

Chris Strohmaier writes about how the Mets passed on Michael Wacha in the 2012 draft.

Around the Playoffs

The Cardinals beat the Red Sox 5-4 thanks to an interference call at third base, one of the strangest plays I've ever seen to end a game. With the Cardinals ahead in the series 2-1, the two teams meet up again this evening. Clay Buchholz matches up with Lance Lynn.

Around the Majors

AJ Hinch and Rick Renteria will receive second interviews for the Cubs' managerial job, while former Mariners manager Eric Wedge will also get an interview.

The Cubs are expected to make Japanese righty starter Masahiro Tanaka their top target this winter.

Carlos Beltran won the 2013 Roberto Clemente Award. People will still probably unironically mention how selfish he is, though.
