It wasn't a good year for the Mets on SNY, as television ratings took a pretty big hit. With the news yesterday that the Mets offseason spending could be dependent on refinancing some loans, this is probably not good news at all. Here's hoping the next commissioner is not pals with the Wilpons.
If the Mets do end up having a little money to spend, ESPN had a look at some players the team could be interested in. One guy that I'm sure most Mets fans would love to have back is outfielder Marlon Byrd, who sounds like he'd also be interested in a return.
Nobody was overly pleased when the Mets AAA affiliate moved from Buffalo to Las Vegas last winter, but it sounds as if there's a real chance the team could wind up in central NY in 2015. With our AA affiliate just a short drive to the south, I find it hard to believe we'd be able to come up with a significantly better fit.
