On an otherwise quiet day for the Mets, Daniel Murphy answered fan questions on Twitter. Among other things, Murphy said he eats peanut butter and honey before games, listens to MercyMe, and thinks Ike Davis is "eccentric."

In their attempts to not overpay for Davis, the Brewers are looking at Michael Young to fill their first base vacancy.

The Braves acquired catcher/first baseman Ryan Doumit from the Twins for prospect Sean Gilmartin. It's not clear if the Braves intend to use Doumit as a catcher or if he's simply a bat off the bench.

Shin Soo Choo turned down a 7 year, $140 million offer from the Yankees before they signed Carlos Beltran

The Mariners are maintaining interest in right-hander Ervin Santana.

The Rockies made two trades, first acquiring outfielder Drew Stubbs from the Indians, and then sending infielder Jonathan Herrera to the Red Sox for former Rockie Franklin Morales. The acquisition of Herrera could have implications on the Stephen Drew front.
