There wasn't a whole lot in the way of Mets news that broke yesterday, and there wasn't all that much out there for Mets-related stories either. For those of you that aren't tired of reading about the Wilpons, Sandy Alderson, and payroll issues, Howard Megdal had a look at some of Sandy Alderson's quotes about the state of the Mets' finances over the course of the winter.

The A-Rod steroids story that is so much more heinous than the Ray Lewis steroids story appears to have a lifelong Mets fan as the reported supplier.

A former Met farmhand managed to latch on elsewhere, as Eric Niesen signed with the Seattle Mariners organization.

Martin Prado was one of the pieces that the Diamondbacks wanted for Justin Upton, and they gave him Angel Pagan money to stay in Arizona long term. Value-wise, this looks like a win for the Braves.
