The Mets have been busy lately, adding relief pitchers and outfielders on minor league deals. According to Jon Heyman, however, the Mets have agreed to a deal with a relief pitcher today that will definitely be on the major league roster:

The Mets had one 40-man roster spot remaining, so the addition of Lyon would mean that any move for Michael Bourn (or any other major league deal) would result in someone being removed from the group. The team is also looking at a numbers crunch at the end of spring training should they choose to add any of the other recent signings to the opening day roster.
Between Lyon and Bobby Parnell, the Mets should be in relatively good shape if Frank Francisco has another poor season. If Francisco bounces back, the back end of the Mets bullpen could be a real strength heading into the season. If only the Mets had an outfield...
