Last night's game between the Mets and the Braves on SNY, which was suspended due to rain with the game tied 5-5 heading into the ninth inning, will be resumed tonight at 6:10 PM. The TV fate was initially up in the air, as the teams are scheduled to play the second game of the series at 7:15 PM tonight, with that game airing on FOX. The Mets just announced that the resumption of last night's game will be televised on SNY
Last night's game was tied 3-3 before each team plated two runs in the eighth. The Mets scored their two on a Daniel Murphy RBI single that chased home John Buck and a Anthony Varvaro wild pitch that allowed Ruben Tejada to scuttle home with the Mets' fifth run. In that frame, Jordany Valdespin pinch-hit for Greg Burke—and struck out—so the Mets will turn to a new pitcher to begin the ninth.
For those wondering, rules-wise there's nothing special about a suspended game. Any player who has already appeared in and subsequently exited the game will be ineligible for the remainder of the tilt.
Once last night's game has finished, Mike Minor and Dillon Gee will oppose one another in the second game.
