The Metsies finally got back to winning ways on Wednesday, beating the Miami Marlins on the back of a Jordany Valdespin homerun. His .320 wOBA and value over replacement level mean he's certainly among the Mets best outfield trio, but it doesn't look as if that's enough to see him starting in the near future. That could be a good thing for outfielder Andrew Brown though, as he is about to be promoted from Las Vegas.
In case you hadn't noticed, Ike Davis has been slumping to start the season. Dave Hudgens sees signs of improvement though, but he won't say what those signs are.
Despite the issues with the Mets' bats, Matt Harvey has been absolutely outstanding to start the season. In recognition of his excellent start, he was named NL Pitcher of the Month.

Around Baseball
There were a pair of divisional matchups in the NL East, with the Phillies beating the Marlins and the Nationals beating the Braves.

Finally for today, it looks like Chase Headley may end up being the big name floated around at the TRAID deadline this year if he won't negotiate during the season.
