Mets Daily Farm Report - 5/4/2013: Where Did The Offense Go?

Catch up on all of yesterday’s minor league action from around the Mets farm system!

*All results from games played on Friday, May 3rd, 2013*

AAA - Las Vegas 51s (13-14)__________________________________

LAS VEGAS 0, SACRAMENTO 3 (Box)

Three hits (none of the extra-base variety) and nine strikeouts meant that Chris Schwinden was not getting a lot of help last at all. The mustachioed one did not pitch bad at all, throwing five decent innings before conceding to the bullpen. Michael Choice went yard for the RiverCats as Bruce Billings shut the 51 offense down for 6.2 innings.

AA - Binghamton Mets (14-14)_____________________________________

BINGHAMTON 1, HARRISBURG 3 (Box)

Cesar Puello's two-out home run in the top of the ninth saved what would have also been a shut-out for yet another Met affiliate last night. Jacob DeGrom pitched well, but as was the theme throughout the farm system last night, the offense simply was not up to snuff to merit a victory.

Hi-A - St. Lucie Mets (16-11)________________________________________

ST. LUCIE 0, FORT MYERS 6 (Box)

Fort Myers is now 23-4 on the season after shutting out our Florida State League heroes 6-0 last night. Noah Syndergaard pitched six decent innings before a Rylan Sandoval throwing error opened the floodgates for a five-run sixth for the Miracle last night.

Lo-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (17-9)__________________________________

KANNAPOLIS, SAVANNAH

SUSPENDED (rain)

There was baseball in Savannah last night, and then the skies opened up around Grayson Park after the third innings. The game will likely resume today with Kannapolis nursing a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning.

Star of the Night

Jack Leathersich! And the starters were pretty good too.

Goat of the Night

Oh dear, there are too many hitters to name. Just putrid offense coast-to-coast last night.
