Final Score: Marlins 8, Mets 1 — At least tomorrow is Harvey Day

Another day, another Mets loss in Miami.

Steve Mitchell

In his first start in the big leagues this year, Collin McHugh gave up four runs in four-plus innings and might have been charged with more had Robert Carson not bailed him out in the fifth. But the Marlins eventually plated three runs against Carson and one more against Greg Burke.

The Marlins' eight runs were more than enough to beat the Mets, whose bats were virtually silent for the second day in a row. Justin Turner's double in the eighth inning scored Juan Lagares and prevented the Mets from being shut out, but it was merely a footnote in an otherwise lousy loss.

Game Thread Roll Call

Nice job by Steve Sypa; his effort in the game thread embiggens us all.
