After a rain delay that lasted nearly four hours, Dillon Gee had one of the best starts of his big league career, coming within two outs of a complete-game shutout. The Mets had a 1-0 lead heading into the ninth inning thanks to Gee's single in the seventh, which plated John Buck. Gee retired Jason Heyward, but he gave up a single to Justin Upton and a two-run, walk-off home run to Freddie Freeman.
Lucas Duda went 4-for-4 with three singles and a double, and he looked good in the field in his first game at first base this year. That's little consolation given the way the rest of the game went, though.
