Final Score: Braves 5, Mets 3 — Amazin' mistakes outweigh Atlanta's

Shaun Marcum remains winless as a weird, error-filled game tipped slightly in the Braves' favor.

Shaun Marcum and Kris Medlen traded zeroes in the early going, but the Braves broke through first in the bottom of the fourth when a pair of two-out singles were followed by a three-run blast by Chris Johnson. The Mets stormed right back in the top of the fifth, or rather, they were allowed to storm through by exploiting a throwing error and a bloop single by Kirk Nieuwenhuis to tie the game at three. The Braves countered with a storm of their own in the bottom half, scoring twice on a wild pitch and an RBI double by B.J. Upton. T'was all over but the shouting from there on out, as Medlen, Luis Avilar, and Craig Kimbrel combined to keep the Mets quiet the rest of the way and seal a 5-3 Braves win.
