Mets vice president of player development and amateur scouting Paul DePodesta joins me to talk about the Mets' draft, the strategies that go into drafting players, and the Mets' decision to take a high school position player in the first round of the draft each of the three years that Sandy Alderson and DePodesta have been at the helm.
We also discuss the team's successful year thus far in the minor leagues, where the Mets' farm teams have the best overall record of Major League Baseball's thirty teams. DePodesta touches upon the team's stockpile of arms and some of the individual prospects in the Mets' system, including Noah Syndergaard, Travis d'Arnaud, and Rafael Montero.
