Mets and Nationals postponed

The Mets and Nationals have been rained out in Washington, D.C.

USA TODAY Sports

The Mets will have to settle for a split of an abbreviated series in the nation's capital, as the team's rubber game with the Nationals has been postponed by rain. No makeup date has been announced yet, but the Mets visit the Nationals for two more three-game series, one at the end of July and the other at the end of August.

The Mets will return home and are scheduled to play the Marlins at Citi Field tomorrow night. The weather forecast doesn't look great here, either, but maybe they'll be able to play.

According to Marc Carig of Newsday, Matt Harvey will still start tomorrow night at Citi Field. Shaun Marcum, who was slated to start tonight, will be bumped to Saturday, while Jon Niese will attempt to return from left shoulder tendinitis on Sunday. The Marlins are slated to start Jose Fernandez, Kevin Slowey, and Tom Koehler. Let's just hope the series goes a hell of a lot better than the one in Miami did last weekend.
