Final Score: Mets 5, Diamondbacks 4 — Andrew Brown's walk-off single wins it in the 13th inning

After more than five hours of baseball, the Mets beat the Diamondbacks on a walk-off hit by Andrew Brown.

USA TODAY Sports

The Mets beat the Diamondbacks on a bases-loaded, two-out single by Andrew Brown in the bottom of the thirteenth inning.

Shaun Marcum allowed three runs in six innings to start the game, but the Mets didn't get on the board until after Marcum left the game. They scored one run in each of the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings—the last of which scored on a single by Josh Satin—to tie the game. They had an opportunity to win the game in the ninth, but John Buck was caught stealing at second as the trail runner as Satin advanced to third on a wild pitch, ending the inning.

The game went to extras, but after a long stretch of scoreless innings by the Mets' bullpen, David Aardsma allowed a solo home run to Cody Ross in the top of the thirteenth. After a series of curious managerial decisions by both Terry Collins and Kirk Gibson in the bottom half of the inning, Andrew Brown came up and drilled the game-winning single.

Love the Mets.
