The trade deadline is two weeks in the rearview and most teams have around 45 games remaining in the 2013 season, and Las Vegas has released updated World Series odds. A fair number of these folks are eying the postseason and an eventual championship, while a dozen or so have apparently been included for reasons of kindness, pity, or some combination of the two.

For example, the Mets, who are more than a dozen games back of the second National league Wild Card, are perhaps generously given 500:1 odds of winning the 2013 World Series. The Yankees meanwhile are 40:1 longshots themselves.

Atop the list of likely World Series winners are the Dodgers (9:2), Tigers (5:1), Braves (13:2), and Red Sox (15:2).
