Mets GIF Of The Game: Dan Warthen can't open the bullpen phone

With Jon Niese pitching into trouble against the Braves in the top of the seventh inning yesterday, Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen reached for the bullpen phone to get one of his relievers warming up. The bullpen phone, though, is enclosed in a five-inch stainless steal box, triple-locked and further secured by fingerprint and retina scanners, as well as a three-tiered cryptographic password entry system into which three key members of the organization must each enter his personally assigned 32-bit encryption key. One mistake and the entire system shuts down and self-vaporizes.

Or, you know, a plastic box with a cheap latch.
