Meet the Mets
Juan Lagares' infield single scored Eric Young Jr from second base as the Mets beat the Rockies 3-2 last night. Jenrry Mejia was great over 5.1 innings in his 3rd start of the season and Lagares rapped a two-run triple earlier in the game.
Matt Harvey faces off against Jhoulys Chacin tonight as the Mets and Rockies play game two of their series.
The Mets got some bad news yesterday as Bobby Parnell was placed on the disabled list with herniated disk in his neck. Parnell will rest and hopefully won't require surgery, though that may be an option.
In better news, Jon Niese made what should be his final rehab start with the Binghamton Mets last night and could rejoin the team on their road trip as soon as this weekend.
It appears Matt Harvey and Freddie Freeman have a budding bromance.
