Meet the Mets

Adam Rubin reported this morning that the Mets are still in contact with Scott Boras but a contract with Stephen Drew is only a possibility, not a probability at this point. In his MLB notes piece, Ken Rosenthal writes that signing Drew would be the next logical step for the Mets.

John Franco heaped praise on former teammate Mike Piazza, even though it's looking like he may be a Hall of Fame snub once again.

CBS Sports has a photo of Sandy Koufax and Mets owner Fred Wilpon from their high school basketball days.

Around the Majors

Former big leaguer Rocco Baldelli is now a special assistant with the Rays and is enjoying his work with the team.

The Phillies are rumored to have a new 25 year, $2.5 billion tv deal with Comcast Sportsnet but Brad Johnson of Fangraphs says not to expect big changes from the Phillies on the field just yet.

Grant Brisbee wrote about the Raysification of the Braves, who are stuck in a bad long term tv deal.
