The very best (and worst) Mets GIFs and Vines of 2014

What did we do before we could summarize the very best that baseball has to offer in these bite-sized moments?

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Perhaps my favorite thing about following baseball in this day and age is the ability to quickly consume the very best moments of any particular game. Quicker than a highlight or even a video snippet, the GIF and the Vine have helped to popularize -- even immortalize -- some of the more notable moments in our collective baseball memory.

And the 2014 Mets certainly did their part to add to that collection. Here are a few of my favorite Mets GIFs/Vines from the past year:

Each player had his moments last season. First, let us appreciate the coming of Juan Lagares...and his glove.

How could we not remember Dan Murphy and his inscrutable quirkiness?

Remember that time when the Mets erected a Murph statue at second base?

Say what you will about Travis d'Arnaud, the man knows how to steal a strike.

Of course, there was the moment that pretty much broke the Mets season.

But David Wright is still the best.

Ruben Tejada. That is all.

Anthony Recker: More than just an impressive rear end.

Definite GIFOTY nominee.

And how could we forget BartYOLO?

Won't miss EY all that much, but he did bring a certain flair.

Let us give thanks for the unexpected king of the Mets GIF, Jon Niese.

There are also some weirdos that don't play for the Mets.
