It's a part of baseball. Sometimes the umpire is going to get a call wrong. It can be frustrating, especially when it happens to your favorite team. Thanks to the compilation of MLB Advanced Media data at Baseball Savant, we can find which players had the most called strikes on pitches outside of the strike zone. In 2013, Daniel Murphy led the Mets with 142 strikes called against him on pitches that should have been balls.
Player | Count |
---|---|
Daniel Murphy | 142 |
Lucas Duda | 114 |
Ike Davis | 109 |
Omar Quintanilla | 107 |
Eric Young Jr. | 83 |
