Mets Spring Training Recap: Marlins 9, Mets 1

The Mets lost an uninspiring spring training game to the Marlins this afternoon. John Lannan threw a couple of scoreless innings, but the rest of the team's pitchers struggled.

Pitching summary

• After Lannan's two innings, Kyle Farnsworth gave up a run on a long home run by Austin Barnes.
• Scott Rice threw a scoreless frame, but John Church gave up a run in the fifth. Josh Edgin followed up with a five-run sixth inning, which included a costly error at first base by Lucas Duda.
• Ryan Reid allowed a run in the seventh, Cory Mazzoni pitched a scoreless eighth, and Vic Black surrendered a run in the ninth.
