Meet the Mets

The Mets beat the Cardinals 9-8 yesterday as Zach Lutz's 9th inning home run propelled the Mets to victory in a see-saw affair. Jon Niese got rocked in his first start of the spring, showing lower velocity than normal. Lutz, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, and Josh Satin all hit home runs.

Wilmer Flores played shortstop yesterday and Terry Collins was pleased with what he saw.

Ike Davis and Lucas Duda may be ready for game action by the end of the week.

Toby Hyde looked at Vic Black, Jacob deGrom, and Domingo Tapia as he continues his Top 41 prospects list.

Mr. Met joined Twitter on Monday and then a bunch of MLB mascots revealed that they may have spent some alone time with his wife Mrs. Met. Uh oh, maybe we should watch out for Mr. and Mrs. Met on a future episode of Maury.

Ervin Santana is likely to sign in the next day or two with a team. Meanwhile, the Braves may be a darkhorse for Santana as both Kris Medlen and Brandon Beachy are both dealing with arm injuries.
