Meet the Mets

The Mets finalized their roster yesterday by sending down Anthony Seratelli, Daisuke Matusuzaka, and Kyle Farnsworth. This means that Jenrry Mejia is the 5th starter, Andrew Brown and Omar Quintanilla make the bench, and Gonzalez Germen will be in the bullpen. The x-ray on Mejia's arm came back negative after he took a line drive off of it on Friday.

Great stuff from Joel Sherman, who says current research shows that returning from Tommy John early is probably a bad idea.

Marc Carig passed along some scouting reports of the Mets different positions going into the season.

Bobby Parnell says he's ready to go for the season despite his velocity still being a little on the short side.

Ralph Kiner's kids will be present at Citi Field tomorrow for Opening Day.

Ballpark revenues at Citi Field dipped for the 4th straight season.

The Indians signed catcher Yan Gomes to a 6-year extension worth $23 million. Well, I didn't see that one coming.

Mike Trout celebrated his new $144.5 million contract by eating a gigantic steak with teammate Garrett Richards. Trout's contract will not have an impact on Bryce Harper's next deal, says Scott Boras, who then compared both players to cups of tea.

I don't know who David Hale is but apparently he'll be the Braves' 4th starter, followed by ex-Met Aaron Harang.

Josh Reddick and Sean Doolittle made the best of a crappy day in the O.Co Coliseum.

Yesterday At AA

Jeff Paternostro wrote about potential 2014 draft pick Brian Hunter.
