Mets Injury Update: Dillon Gee placed on disabled list with lat strain, Jacob deGrom will start tomorrow vs. Yankees

The Mets' rotation takes a big blow, but deGrom will make his big league debut against the Yankees on Thursday.

Mets pitcher Dillon Gee has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right lat strain. This move makes room on the 25-man roster for Rafael Montero, who will make his major league debut on Wednesday against the Yankees

Gee has been the Mets' best pitcher so far this season, posting a 3-1 record with a 2.73 ERA in 52⅔ innings. He went 5⅔ innings or deeper in each of his eight starts. In his most recent start, he was taken out after allowing three runs in six innings in a no decision on May 10 against the Phillies, despite throwing only 81 pitches.

Recent call-up Jacob deGrom will start for Gee and make his major league debut on Thursday against the Yankees.
