Mets first baseman Lucas Duda has been hospitalized with a stomach bug, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. The notoriously terse slugger is receiving intravenous fluids and will not play in the tonight's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Josh Satin will bat sixth and play first base against Phillies starter Roberto Hernandez (erstwhile Fausto Carmona). This will be Satin's first start against a right-handed pitcher so far this season.
Meanwhile in Pittsburgh, Ike Davis is fully healthy and in the lineup tonight for the Pirates, which fact we expect someone somewhere to trollishly point out.
