Final Score: Mets 11, Phillies 2—Smell ya later, Philadelphia!

The Mets won easily to take the fourth of five games from the Phillies.

Drew Hallowell

The Mets destroyed the Phillies 11-2 to take four of five games from them in the series. Bartolo Colon had a nice start, allowing just two runs in seven-plus innings of work—partially thanks to two great defensive plays by Matt den Dekker—and the Mets had little problem scoring runs against Phillies pitchers.

The Mets only scored once through the first five innings of the game, but they plated four runs in the sixth on two-run doubles from David Wright and Wilmer Flores. And with a 5-2 lead heading into the ninth, they scored six runs, the last four of which came on a Wilmer Flores grand slam.

That makes the Mets 28-29 on the season and puts them in third place in the National League East.
