Catch up on all of yesterday’s minor league action from around the Mets farm system!

*All results from games played on Friday, June 27th, 2014

Triple-A - Las Vegas 51's (48-33)_______________________________________

SACRAMENTO 1, LAS VEGAS 4 (Box)

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (46-33)_____________________________________

BINGHAMTON 8, ALTOONA 2 (Box)

  • RF Kyle Johnson: 3-5, R, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI; a homer shy of the cycle. He's been pretty good since coming over from Anaheim in exchange for Collin Cowgill. It's going to be interesting to see what happens in the Vegas outfield between now and the beginning of next season.
  • 3B Brian Burgamy: 1-5, R, 2B, 2 RBI
  • 1B Jayce Boyd: 1-4, 2 K
  • LF Darrell Ceciliani: 1-4, R, 2B
  • 3B Dustin Lawley: 1-5, R, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K
  • PH Brandon Nimmo: 1-4, 2 K
  • SS Dilson Herrera: 2-5, R, 2B, RBI, K
  • RHP Tyler Pill: 6.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K; 2-3, 2 R; I think Pill is the same guy who homered and tossed a near shutout the other day. "But can he play shortstop?" is my question.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (4-3 / 44-32)_____________________________________

POSTPONED (RAIN)

Low-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (5-4 / 49-26)__________________________________

ROME 2, SAVANNAH 4 (Box)

Short-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (11-4)__________________________________

ABERDEEN 0, BROOKLYN 2 (Box)

Marcos Molina got the start for the Cyclones Friday night, the Mets' number 10 prospect per Baseball Prospectus, and he did not disappoint, giving up zero runs in six innings while striking out eight, including seven in the first two innings. I'm impressed, as was our own Jeffrey Paternostro, who was in attendance:

He's also already written him up, so go check that out as well.

Rookie - Kingsport Mets (5-4)__________________________________

KINGSPORT 3, PRINCETON 9 (Box)

Rookie - GCL Mets (3-4)__________________________________

GCL CARDINALS 7, GCL METS 3 (Box)

  • CF John Mora: 2-3, RBI, BB
  • LF Emmanuel Zabala: 2-4, R
  • SS Alfredo Reyes: 2-4, R, K
  • C Darryl Knight: 1-3, 3B, K
  • 2B Milton Ramos: 1-4
  • RHP Logan Taylor: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K; Very excited to see Logan Taylor making his way back from Tommy John surgery (I believe). He was dominating Savannah when he sustained his injury, so much so that he was profiled favorably in this piece at Fangraphs. The return of Taylor and Cory Mazzoni is a nice boost for the system.

Star of the Night

Marcos Molina. You gotta love it when a guy lives up to the expectations. It's only two starts, SSS, yeah, yeah, I know. I don't care, I'm excited.

Goat of the Night

I don't know. Kaupe? Hate to pick on short-season guys.
