Double-A - Binghamton Mets (58-38)_____________________________________
BINGHAMTON 11, ERIE 4 (BOX)
- CF Brandon Nimmo: 1-5, R, HR, 2 RBI, K; With that home run Nimmo has matched his total from the first half in less than half the plate appearances. It seems like the running question about Nimmo during the first half has been about how much power he will develop. The early returns from Binghamton are promising.
- 2B Dilson Herrera: 1-4, R, 2B, RBI, BB; Speaking of promising early returns, Herrera has just four hitless games since his promotion.
- 3B Brian Burgamy: 0-4, BB, K
- DH Travis Taijeron: 2-5, 2 R, RBI, 2 K; Taijeron was named the Eastern League Player of the Week yesterday. For the week ended 7/12, Taijeron hit .400/.455/.900 with three homers and 10 runs batted in.
- SS T.J. Rivera: 1-3, 2 R, BB, K

NO GAME (SCHEDULE)
Short-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (15-16)__________________________________
BROOKLYN 0, CONNECTICUT 2 (Box)
This one was called in the middle of the sixth due to fog, which is not something I typically associate with Connecticut nights in the summer. Marcos Molina didn't pitch as well as we've become accustomed to, and now his ERA is dangerously close to a whole entire run per nine, which is just unacceptable. Hopefully he can turn things around in his next start.
- CF Tucker Tharp: 0-2
- SS Amed Rosario: 0-3
- 3B Jhoan Urena: 2-3

- 1B Jeff Diehl: 0-2, K
- LF Joe Tuschak: 0-1
- DH Tomas Nido: 0-1, BB
- RHP Marcos Molina: 4.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
Rookie - Kingsport Mets (10-14)__________________________________
KINGSPORT 7, BRISTOL 7 (Box) delayed by rain in the seventh
- SS Luis Guillorme: 0-2, 3 R, 2 BB
- C Miguel Leal: 0-2, RBI, BB, K
- LF Oswald Caraballo: 0-2, R, RBI, BB
- 3B Eudor Garcia: 1-3, 2B, RBI, K
- 1B Pedro Perez: 0-2
- CF Ivan Wilson: 0-3, 2 K; el oh el at his strikeout numbers
- RF Wuilmer Becerra: 2-3, 2 R, 2 HR, 2 RBI, K
- OF Vicente Lupo: dnp
- LHP Blake Taylor: 2.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K; It didn't go terribly well but it's nice to see the organization saw enough from Taylor to get him into one of the non-GCL rookie leagues.
Rookie - GCL Mets (10-10)__________________________________
GCL MARLINS 3, GCL METS 8 (Box)
- Rehab Alert Taylor Teagarden: 1-3, 2B, 2 K

- DH Darryl Knight: 2-3, R, 2B, RBI, BB, K
- 2B Milton Ramos: 2-4, R, 2B, 3 RBI
- RHP Eucebio Arias: 5.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, K
Star of the Night
Darrell Ceciliani and his two home runs deserve the star. I'm fairly unmoved by Ceciliani. Seems like a speedy guy who can play all the outfield positions, but other than there doesn't seem to be a lot there. So I was surprised when Baseball Prospectus put a 50 OFP on him and a realistic role 45, which is basically a 4th outfield. I'm not sure what to make of that.
Goat of the Night
It's a light night on goats so I'm giving the horns to Wuilmer Becerra and Vicente Lupo for drag racing last week like a couple of idiots. We all did stupid stuff when we were younger, but when you put others at risk it's just unacceptable.
