Mets vs. Nationals rained out

The teams will play a day-night doubleheader on Thursday.

Rob Carr

With a slew of rain heading through the nation's capitol, the Mets-Nationals game scheduled for this evening has been postponed. The team will play two games tomorrow, the first at 1:05 pm and the second at 7:05 pm. Dillon Gee will start the first game, and Zack Wheeler will start the second.

While the game obviously isn't of significance to the Mets at this point of the season, the Nationals are just two games up on the Dodgers for the best record in the National League. The Nationals are also scheduled to play a doubleheader against the Miami Marlins on Friday.

As for the Mets, they'll return home on Friday for a three-game series against the Houston Astros to wrap up the season. Jon Niese, Rafael Montero, and Bartolo Colon are scheduled to pitch those games.
