The Mets beat the Rockies 3-2 on a walk-off sacrifice fly off the bat of Wilmer Flores this evening. They scored first on a Lucas Duda double in the bottom of the first inning, but Jon Niese gave up a leadoff home run to Michael Cuddyer in the second. From there, the game remained tied until the eighth inning.
With Vic Black—who had entered the game to begin the inning—on the mound, Nolan Arenado hit a home run to begin the inning. But Black finished the inning without allowing another run. Carlos Torres threw a scoreless top of the ninth, and the Mets went on to beat LaTroy Hawkins. Travis d'Arnaud led off with a double, Eric Young Jr. ran for him, and Curtis Granderson tripled to score Young. Wilmer Flores followed up with the aforementioned sacrifice fly to center field, and the Mets won.
