2015 AARGH: Amazin' Avenue Regional Gathering Here

Yes, friends, it's that time again! The chance to see if your fellow Amazin' Avenue posters are actually real people that can operate (semi)normally within the bounds of normal society is here at last!

In the next few weeks, we'll have our annual AARGH, the Amazin' Avenue Regional Gathering Here. What exactly does that entail? Based on data collected in the past:

  • Drinking beer
  • Bemoaning the state of the Mets, past, present, and future
  • Drinking beer
  • Getting excited about the Mets' minor leaguers and the fact that hope springs eternal
  • Blaming Beltran
  • Praising Dickey
  • Drinking beer

Based on recent events, other topics that are likely to come up include:

  • Drinking beer
  • Bemoaning the state of the Mets, past, present, and future
  • Troy Tulowitzki's hip
  • Drinking beer
  • Wilmer Flores and the strengths/limits of UZR/DRS/"The Eye Test"
  • Getting excited about the Mets' minor leaguers and the fact that hope springs eternal
  • Blaming Beltran
  • Praising Dickey
  • Drinking beer

We're in our planning stages right now, and as such, it's important to hear your feedback. As of right now, the event is tentatively scheduled for 6 PM on Saturday, February 7th at The Ginger Man (E 36th Street, between 5th & Madison). To accommodate the largest number of possible attendees, the date and location are both negotiable. If the community feels another date or location is preferable, please bring them up for discussion in the comments.

With these Amazin' Avenue meet-ups, we've had decent turnouts in the past, and I've met more than a few posters and site contributors (I've personally met about 15-20 different people on a few different occasions). Nothing against the people I've already met, some on multiple occasions, but I'd also like to see some new faces. Come on down. If they can stand our stat frauding, bring a friend; the more, the merrier. At the end of the day, it's an excuse to get out, drink a little (optional), and engage in educated baseball discussion in real time (mandatory).
