Ruben Tejada has fractured right fibula thanks to human dirtbag Chase Utley

This doesn't come as much of a surprise to anyone who watched the game: Ruben Tejada has a broken right fibula after Chase Utley took him out with a dirty, awful, heinous, terrible slide at second base in the seventh inning of Game 2 of the NLDS. That obviously ends Tejada's season, leaves Wilmer Flores as the starting shortstop the rest of the way, and opens a question of who, exactly, the Mets will add to the roster to take Tejada's place. Dilson Herrera comes to mind since he's a middle infielder, but he's not a shortstop.

It's a damn shame that Tejada's season—which was perfectly-decent, if surprising—came to an end on a play like that. On top of the fact that the play resulted in the Mets' lead crumbling, it hurts them going forward, too.

Get well soon, Ruben Tejada. And get out of baseball even sooner, Chase Utley. You won't be missed.
