The Mets' inspiring 3-2 victory over the Dodgers last night does not have the bookies saying "Ya Gotta Believe!"
Online sports book Bovada currently list the Mets as the third-most-likely team to win the World Series at 10/3, behind the Toronto Blue Jays (9/5) and Chicago Cubs (5/2). The Mets are a 5/4 underdog to beat the Cubs in the National League Championship Series.
Based on the odds of their Division Series matchup—where the the Dodgers were 1/2 favorites to defeat the Mets—maybe being the underdog is right where the Mets want to be. The Cubs' odds of winning the NLCS are 20/29 after beating the Cardinals—who had the best record in baseball and were the only team to win 100 games in 2015—3-1 in the NLDS.
Here are the current World Series odds for the four remaining teams.
