Jacob deGrom and the Mets bring their 2-0 NLCS lead to Chicago to take on the Cubs tonight. Kyle Hendricks, a right-handed pitcher, will try to get the Cubbies back into the series.
The Mets will employ the same lineup they used to defeat Jake Arrieta in Game 2. Sticking with what has worked so far, Lucas Duda—whose bat hasn't really been working much at all this postseason—will be at first base and batting fifth. Rookie Michael Conforto gets the start in left field, with Yoenis Cespedes batting cleanup and playing center.
One peculiarity for the Cubs is that Hendricks, an .071 career hitter, will bat eighth, with shortstop Javier Baez batting ninth. Manager Joe Maddon is clearly trying to get some extra baserunners for his top-of-the-order hitters to (hopefully) drive in.
