Max Scherzer threw a no-hitter as the Nationals beat the Mets 2-0 this evening at Citi Field. Matt Harvey had a good start in his own right, a tune-up for the postseason in which he allowed one run in six innings of work. Hansel Robles allowed a run in an inning of relief, too, not that it mattered all that much.
Scherzer struck out seventeen in his no-hitter. It wasn't much fun to watch, but at least the Mets will be playing baseball next weekend while the Nationals will not.
