Mets playoffs: NLDS game times announced for Games 1 and 2

Both games will start late on the east coast.

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets will begin their NLDS matchup on Friday, and now the times for the first two games in Los Angeles have been announced. Game 1's first pitch will take place at 6:45 PM PDT, a 9:45 PM east coast start. Game 2 will take place at 6:07 PM PDT, which is 9:07 PM on the east coast. A Saturday playoff game starting that late is a little surprising.

The Mets are set to pitch Jacob deGrom in Game 1 on Friday night and Noah Syndergaard in Game 2, with Matt Harvey lined up to pitch Game 3 at home on Monday. The Dodgers will presumably pitch Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke in the first two games of the series, which could make for quite a series in terms of great pitching. All five of those pitchers were among better pitchers in baseball this year.
