In a few hours, the Mets will take the field for their first postseason game since 2006, and the lineups for that game have just been released.
As expected, Ruben Tejada will be the starting shortstop over Wilmer Flores, batting eighth, while Michael Cuddyer will play left field over Michael Conforto, batting seventh against the left-handed Clayton Kershaw. Somewhat less expected, Daniel Murphy is batting fourth behind Curtis Granderson, David Wright, and Yoenis Cespedes.
For the Dodgers, there was some question about whether they would play hot-hitting rookie Corey Seager at shortstop or veteran Jimmy Rollins. Evidently, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly likes Seager's bat over Rollins's experience, putting Seager third in the order. Backup catcher A.J. Ellis gets the start over the slumping Yasmani Grandal for the Dodgers.
