The Amazin' Avenue Offseason Plan Contest 2015-16 Champions

Congratulations to the winners!

There were many enjoyable entries in this offseason's edition of the Amazin' Avenue Offseason Plan Contest—better known as the AAOP around here. We laughed, we cried, and we wished the Mets would have the ability and/or willingness to spend as much as $120 million on payroll—the generous, optimistic figure set forth for this exercise—in 2016.

In total, we received dozens of entries and selected five finalists, which were presented to the community for a vote. That closed on Friday evening, and here are the results. Congratulations to the winners!

First Place: Liquid Love, by IPA

Welp… We came, we watched, we saw our team come oh so close to bringing home all the RINGZ. Other than finding comfort in the arms of a significant other, multiple cold brews certainly helped in getting down that bitter pill of defeat. Which is also my plan for the offseason. Keep them brews a flowing, but not just though my Marine liver (Semper BAC, Ya'll!). I took the time to take Jeffrey Von Silverspoon out for a one on one management year end recap lunch. Yeah, he thinks he's management.

Second Place: The 2016 Offseason in Review, by FlushtownFandom

You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of prudent ownership hung up on positive cashflow. You're moving into a land of both sabermetrics and eye-tests, of substance and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Mets offseason recap...

Third Place: Tomorrow is Today, by Ogre39666

As a fan-base we've been living on the idea of tomorrow. "If we survive the lean years, we'll see a fruitful tomorrow", "We just need to be patient", "Let the kids grow and we'll get back there". That was the mantra. That was what we told ourselves to hold ourselves over. Then we won the division and made it all the way to the World Series. As it turns out, things can change fast. Now the question is: How do we get back, and this time win it? Now we're living for today.

And here's the final vote tally:
